José R. Torres is experienced in real estate, bankruptcy and criminal defense. He also counsels clients in customs

clearance and international trade law. Mr. Torres is admitted to practice law before the New Jersey and Florida Courts as well as the United States Court of International Trade and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Torres is also experienced in the areas of International Banking Compliance and Securities Investigations gained while working at the office of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in Manhattan. He has also served as fellow of the American Caribbean Law Initiative where he consulted on legal issues with the Attorney General of Jamaica. He has also trained in Geneva with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and obtained certification for International Law Dispute resolution from the prestigious Humboldt-Universitat zu Berlin, Germany.

While not occupied with law, look for him on the field in elite softball competition or volunteering time to educational panels where he lends professional expertise, and has been featured on radio talk shows and international television broadcasts on CNN en español. He is a native of Bogotá, Colombia and lives with Wife and three children in northern New Jersey. Mr. Torres is also proficient in Italian.

Ms. Ho-Pelaez graduated with a Master of Laws in Bankruptcy and Corporate Restructuring from St. John's University School of Law and received her Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law. She’s a licensed attorney registered in the State of New York and New Jersey and admitted in the U.S. District, Southern District of New York and the District of New Jersey. During law school, Ms. Ho-Pelaez had the privilege of being a legal extern at the Departmental Appeals Board of the United States Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, DC. While serving there, she was assigned to the Civil Remedies Division—FDA Tobacco Program.

Ms. Ho-Pelaez is a firm believer in giving back and she’s actively involved in non-profits, charitable events and organizations, in order to help the underserved. She loves sports and enjoys trying new restaurants and different foods.
